Fun Voice-Changing Apps for Android

If you or your friends are feeling a little stressed out, it may be time to lighten things up with a practical joke. Try a voice-changer app that will record audio and change it into something amusing.

Good to know: when it’s time for a treat, these educational cooking apps may come in handy.

1. Voice Changer with Effects

Price: Free with premium options

Voice Changer with Effects from Baviux is one of the most popular voice-changing apps. It’s easy to use and offers many options to alter your voice.

Start by recording your message, then apply an effect from the many available in the library. If you want more options, the app lets you unlock additional options for a small fee. Alternatively, access more effects by watching ads (one ad unlocks one effect), which I think is the better alternative.

The app lets you save your pranks, then easily share them with your friends – or even set them as notification/phone ringtones. There’s also an option to slow down or accelerate your recording.

2. Voice Changer

Price: Free with premium options

Another app I turn to when I want to prank someone is Voice Changer. Granted, it has a pretty outdated interface, but it lets you record audio AND upload it from your device.

The app’s library of effects is pretty large. It includes a couple of mixed effects. For example, Robot + Chipmunk, which I find quite entertaining.

Once you’ve found an effect that you like, save the audio, then share it with others via social media or other apps. On the downside, Voice Changer is full of pop-up ads, but you can remove them for a fee.

3. TikTok

Chances are you already have this app installed on your phone, but did you know that TikTok also has some voice-changing effects? If you’re an avid TikTok user, use the app to have a few laughs with your friends.

I like how easy it is to create a TikTok with an altered voice: record your clip, then press the Voice button on the right side of the display. Tap the Record button to record your voiceover, then add the voice effect.

While the options are limited, since I often use TikTok to connect with friends, I frequently take advantage of the built-in options when I want to have a quick laugh or two.

4. Voice Changer by Sound Effects

Price: Free with premium options

Voice Changer by Sound Effects has many ads and does not have a great-looking interface. However, I chose to include it, as it’s the only app on the list that gives you controls for pitch, speed, etc., with your voice changes

There are also some fun effects to work with, such as Death, Villain and Zombie. I also like that you can add background audio to create a more striking result.

Moreover, the app allows you to use your own file, record audio, or add your own text. The app supports multiple languages, too!

5. Voices AI

Price: Free with premium options

The Voices AI app makes use of artificial intelligence algorithms to turn your speech into the voice of beloved characters, politicians and celebrities. I had a lot of fun experimenting with the AI voices of Cartman from South Park and Donald Trump.

The app lets you add your own text, as well as record it, whichever you prefer. The only problem is that you can access only one voice-changing effect for free. To experiment with more, you’ll need to acquire additional gems (in-app currency).

With Voices AI, you can also generate and listen to AI-created soundscapes. Just enter a prompt, and the app will do its best to create something for you. An AI audio enhancer is also part of the package but requires that you unlock the PRO version.
