How Long Until Your iPhone Is Charged? iOS 18 May Show You

You look at your phone and see that you have under 20%, but you’re leaving in 35 minutes. Will your phone be charged by then? If not, how long will it take? Code has been discovered in a beta for iOS 18 that may show you how long it will take for your iPhone to charge.

Code for Phone Charge Time Found in iOS 18.2 Beta 2

While we can easily see on our iPhone displays the percentage of battery we have left, we can’t find out how long it will take to charge up. There are so many different ways of charging, that it’s hard to keep straight how long one certain charger will take. All you’re left with is a hope and a prayer that your phone will charge in whatever time you have.

iOS 18 may change that, or 18.2, to be exact. While you likely already have iOS 18 installed on your iPhone (and if you don’t, you should!), and possibly even 18.1, upcoming still is 18.2.

While it was thought that many of the better Apple Intelligence features wouldn’t be released until next year sometime, they will be released next month in iOS 18.2. Apple developers are hard at work on its features, sending it to the developer beta.

Those using iOS 18.2 beta 2 for developers found an interesting piece of code. The “BatteryIntellience” framework was discovered. This feature would estimate how much time it would take you to charge your iPhone.

As common advice states to not charge your phone past 80% for better battery health, there’s even an option to get an estimated time to charge up to 80%.

Will Battery Charge Time Be Ready by December?

While the code was seen in iOS 18.2 beta 2, Battery Intelligence is not a finished feature. Those using that developer beta don’t have it as an option. The code is unfinished and is not enabled.

While it’s likely that once the official iOS 18.2 is released, you’ll be able to determine how long it will take to charge your iPhone, it’s not a done deal. It’s unknown if the developers will be able to finish the feature in a month’s time, since it’s not ready for the beta.

But there are still plenty of other iOS 18.2 features that you’ll enjoy on your iPhone: specifically, the Apple Intelligence features people have been most excited about since the AI was announced last June. Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration, and Visual Intelligence are still to come, with some of the features only available on handsets from the iPhone 16 line.
